:: Review ::

Brave Let me preface this review with a bit of prejudice. I happen to be a fan of female singers in this genre of music, and may I state that Michelle Loose has an exceptional voice. This band at once has a noticeably unique sound, and I especially like the acoustic element so eloquently added by Scott Loose. At first listen, I thought the tracks were a little repetitious and generic, but the tunes definitely grow on you.

Brave blends well the hard edge we all love as illustrated in “ Trapped Inside” with some beautiful, sometimes eerie vocals as in “before Nightfall” which also is Scott’s best acoustic sound. This one happens to be my favorite. “Bleed Into Me” leaves you intrigued by the intro, which segues into a melodic ballad that delivers a deep message. “Candle in the Dark” is a simple beautiful lyric that makes you want to do just that: Light a candle in the dark and dream. Also one of my favorites.

All in all, I'd say that Brave has an eclectic sound on the softer side, definitely worth a second and third spin around. Give a listen.

8 out of 10 keyboards.
