Apple is essentially the songwriting duo of drummer, Buz Saylor &
key boardist- guitarist, Jeff Miller. Although live they are accompanied
by a full band. The band hails from the Philadelphia area and has been
favorably compared to Sting, Steely Dan, Genesis, Dave Matthews Band,
Marillion, Bruce Hornsby, Pat Methany Group, etc.
Prog4you has heard the CD- the music is brilliant! The CD combines the
flavor of smooth flowing jazz along with
the outgrowth of progressive influences. Although the music is more
mainstream then what prog fans are use to, the group manages to tie in
all it’s influences to bring you 10 tracks full of hooks and
exceptional songwriting plus delightful melodies. The group’s vocalist
is John Feldman, who is an exceptional vocalist. One listen to On The
Shoreline, will convince you that this is a must have CD.
The album gained commercial acclaim when two singles were released from
the debut CD The Toybox. This
entered them in the US adult contemporary Gavin top 40 in April 1998.
It’s Over, reached #21. The second single, A Boy Like Me, peaked at
#29. Our favorite song on the album is On The Shoreline and it is
available as a free MP3 here.
Prog4you enjoyed this CD very much and we hope that you do too. We
