The
Masters would be proud. The strengths of Symphony X's fifth release are the transitions,
the overall talent of this band, and the emotional flow from start to
end. It's a CD that you crank up
when you pull into the convenience store parking lot, and think that
maybe someone will come over and say "Who IS that?!"
You want to talk about this band.
This music is to be shared.
We love it. "Fallen",
"Egypt", and "Communion and the Oracle" are a few of
our favorite tracks. Counter-melodies,
intense changes, and a flawless blend of symphonic elements and metal
capture our attention, our emotions. Collectively
and individually, the superb talent is unique.
We could speak about the story and message which is implied, but
this aspect is best left for each listener to interpret.
It's more special that way.
This is the Real Deal, people, it doesn't get any better.
"V" is a masterpiece-a classic, and an incredible
musical experience from this New Jersey band.
You owe it to yourself to have this one in your collection, close
at hand.
We rate "V”: 10
keyboards, out of 10; more if we could!
