The name of the project translates to “40 Days On
The Sinai,” but it’s really 29 tracks of instrumental ecstasy. The last
track fades in and out with only a few seconds of music, so it’s
debatable if this can really be counted towards the tally. Nevertheless,
the remaining bunch leaves the listener with a Hefty Bag of blissful
items. A stray vocal pops in ever so often, making for extraneous, yet
useful pocket change when needed. When it does, it’s exclusively in
French (and the insert isn’t much help in the translation). Musically,
it might be closest to Kopecky; however, it’s not like anything I’ve
ever had to pleasure to lay my ears on.

Overall, there is much strewn
all over the place and its organization is simple. It contains two
separate acts, with the second being slightly more vivacious. Regardless
of the half, this mass of melodies is a hidden treasure rather than a
junk pile. Believe me; you’ll take this discovery seriously. Even
Sanford and his dummy Son won’t be laughing. For such a skinny guy and a
small fry, it manages to loosen the shackles fastened on by the usual
suspects and the conformists of the mainstream. As it successfully freed
my mind from the daily grind, it should liberate any listener it
encounters.
