The Idiot King
Are
you ready for something new? Well prog fans, I’ve got a treat for you in the brand
new CD by Attention Deficit. In my opinion, the music is hard to put a label on. It
can fit into many. At times it is jazz, at times it makes me think of King Crimson,
and it also has a new age feel to it. Best of all the music is fresh and alive. It
is brand new thinking, which I find quite refreshing. This CD is getting lots of use
in my player. Each time I hear it, I think of a different band. Sometimes it’s the
best of Frank Zappa, and others just a kick ass metal album. The music takes you to
many places and moods. Jazz metal and Prog rock tribal world music. It works for me.
The band is made up of three world class musicians from different backgrounds in the
music arena, Michael Manring (Michael Hedges)-bass, Tim Alexander (Primus)-drums,
and Alex Skoinick (Testatament)-guitar. The group has really found a good mix, with
Michael’s quirky bass, the multifaceted rhythms of Tim’s drums and the jazz fusion
sound of Alex’s guitar. They all jell together famously. To sum it up prog fans, you
will not be disappointed with this CD. If you want fusion and prog metal complex
rhythms, buy this CD. I loved it and so will you. Rating: 9 out of 10
