Balance Of Power “Perfect Balance”

Balance Of PowerEngland’s Balance Of Power was formed by keyboardist Ivan Gunn. The band was made up of excellent London rockers and Balance Of Power was born. They suffered line up changes before solidifying their band. Original members from their first album, guitarist Paul Curtiss and vocalist Tony Ritchie, were replaced at the labels request as stylistic changes were made that did not fit those members talents. American lead vocalist Lance King and British guitarist Pete Southern, were the replacements. Keyboardist Ivan Gunn recently left the band as his company Anthem Records was going so well that he did not have enough time to dedicate to the group. The band has created 3 full-length albums. The first two, When The World Falls Down, and Book Of Secrets; respectively were released in Japan and Europe. With very little push, they have garnered rave reviews and have sold in excess of 100.000 copies. The third release, Ten More Tales Of Grand Illusion, was released to Japan on October 20th, in Europe on November 21st, and in the USA on January 15th 2000 to a barrage of fantastic press worldwide. Ten More Tales received many nominations for album of the month and even album of the year from magazines. The band toured Germany in support of the new album and played 19 shows in 21 days and put to rest rumors that they were just a studio band. Shortly before the tour began the band parted ways with bassist Chris Dale and bassist/vocalist Tony Ritchie was reinstated back to the ranks of BOP. The tour was deemed the most successful metal tour in the last 2-3 years in Germany selling out venues across Germany.

In spring of 2001, Balance Of Power released the 4th album Perfect Balance. The album hit the streets in Europe on July 23rd (on Massacre Records), Japan- August 7th (on new label Avalon / Marquee) and the USA on August 14th (on Nightmare Records). All three releases are unique onto themselves, each has it’s own cover artwork. US version has a CD Rom section for your computer to see live video footage taken from last years German tour. The Japanese version has two bonus tracks.

Wow!! Where do we start? When we listened to this new album we wanted to grow our hair long, wear a leather jacket, cruise around in cars, and crank up the CD player. Power Of Balance returns with their 4th studio album that showcases the group’s talent for songwriting and production. This album is definitely the real deal! Prog4you.com is completely committed to this new disc by Balance Of Power. This is by far the best new melodic metal album to come out in a long time, and the best Balance Of Power album yet.
This album raises the standard and it is above all the rest. One word says it all, Smokin! This album deserves the three E’s; excellent, energetic, and exciting. There are 9 killer tracks totaling 52:46 minutes, involving great song writing and great harmonies. The production and sound quality is excellent. The music is polished and tight. This music is reminiscent of 80’s style metal, but with a modern sound. They have the potential to be mainstream without even trying....that style! Which track deserves to be the best on the album? Fire Dance, One Voice, The Pleasure Room, or Hard Life? All of them! I’m telling you, if you love metal, this album will get your rocks off.

Prog4you chooses Balance Of Power, Perfect Balance, as album of the month for the month of October.
We give it 10 keyboards straight up. Perfect Balance, it’s in the name Perfect.

Kick ass, take numbers and crank out the cash to purchase this album. Buy it! We highly recommend it.
