Sorrow
& Promise :: Divine In Sight
We are certainly in the midst of a great Renaissance in progressive
music. Prog4you.com would like to introduce to you Divine In Sight, the
band hails from Wisconsin. The group members include Bartholomen Boge
vocalist /songwriter, Jonathan Dexter bass/guitar/ keyboards, and foot
pedals, and Frank Ralls percussion. The music is categorized as spiritual progressive art rock. The debut
album is called Sorrow And Promise; and it promises to bring you a new
venture in progressive rock.
When you consider that we heard this album for the first time, we wanted
to be able to assess the music for its worthiness. Clearly this is one
album that is worthy to be shared with our readers and the rest of the
world. Without question, the message of this music is not just the music
itself but also the evangelical message that empowers the theme within
the music. In other words, there is a spiritual message here and that is
the message of hope and wisdom through the Lord Jesus Christ. When you
hear the music you not only get the lyrical message from the music, but
you hear how talented and polished the musicians really are.
This is a well-crafted and structured album in every respect,
from every angle, to final performance. The only drawback was the
production, a little lack luster to say the least; the sound is a little
rough at times. It comes across as an average recording job. You will
notice that the CD is not as clear as it should be. Still that will not
matter when you hear the overall album the performance is top notch.
The most notable aspect of the album is that Divine In Sight did not
deter from what they sailed out to do. This is what makes progressive
artist truly musicians. Breaking down barriers and forging their own
sound is what progressive artists can accomplish. That is what Divine In
Spirit has done. In a world that is polluted with hatred and despair
Divine In Sight was spawned to make it a better place. The difference
between this album being just a
“Christian Album” is the fact that the musicians will not
deter you from listening to the music. Yes there is a spiritual message
here, but it’s more then just a message. It is dynamic in a sense that
it is for everyone, not just Christians but for regular fans with
progressive rock taste.
This
album has achieved its mark, and it belongs in your CD collection. We
highly recommend it. We would have given it ten keyboards out of ten,
but the production lowered the score to eight out of ten keyboards.
