Finisterre
Storybook 2001

Finisterre hails from Genoa, Italy. The group was formed in early 1992 by guitarist Stefano Marelli and bassist Fabio Zuffaniti with fellow band members keyboard player Boris Valle and Flautist Sergio Grazia. The band released two albums. The first album was released in 1995 titled “Finisterre”. The second album was released in 1996 called “In Limine”. The group established itself as a serious band creating music in the style of early 70s progressive rock. In 1997, the band became a quartet with the addition of drummer Andre Orlando (ex-Malombra) and signed a record deal with Iridea Records. The band then released it’s third effort in 1998 called “In Ogni Lougo” gaining critical acclaim from Italian magazines Rockerilla, Rock Star, Caio 2001 and gained large scale distribution.

Finisterre has been very active recently forming a new and expanded lineup. For the first time in existence, the group now features a sextet featuring main staples
Fabio Zuffaniti on bass guitar, vocals; Stefano Marelli on electric and acoustic guitars, vocals, Andrea Orlando on drums, and new entries Raffaella Callea lead vocals, flute, Sergio Caputo violin, percussion and Agostino Macor on keyboards.

Finisterre is an
Iredea records recording artist, and has released a new live CD in collaboration with Moonjune records, USA, called Storybook. Taken from their appearance at Progday festival at Storybook farm, Chaple Hill, NC August 31, 1997. An exceptional performance from this Italian prog band that can take classic Italian prog, mix in some rock, jazz, and some classical music and the outcome sounds great. You never get tired of listening to this form of talent. The CD is made up of 8 tracks taken from their CD’s “In Limine, and Fenisterre including a cover of PFM’s anthem "Altaloma". The recording is clear and a treat for your ears. If you like Italian prog as much as we do, go buy this CD. This is a Wonderful performance by Finisterre and a worthy addition to your collection. For fans of progday this CD was originally released as a limited edition of 500 on Proglodite records, USA-2000.  Now is your opportunity to get the Album remastered and re-edited with an extra bonus track. For people that have never heard of Finisterri go hear what you've
been missing.
